Uomo e Territorio PRO NATURA is an Italian non-profit organization partner of Pro Natura National Federation, the oldest Italian environmental organization (member of IUCN, member of EEB).
The association stands up for the conservation of Nature at many different levels, protecting focus species (large carnivores, Stone-curlew) through conservation projects and action plans, creating or restoring ecological networks and rivers, lobbying governments to influence land use , promoting conservation projects, sustainable farming and rural economy associated with locally branded products at a landscape scale.
The association programme is not only about making the countryside better for wildlife – but also about making the countryside better for people. Therefore, Uomo e Territorio PRO NATURA always cooperates closely with local community, farmers, landowners, industry, funding bodies, local community associations and other environmental NGOs. Regional development and nature protection accompany each other. Like this, new jobs are created and the quality of life is improved.
